He’s been part of TMBG’s touring band for a long time, even when he was in 
Conan’s band (Conan came first, but he’d join TMBG on the road when the show 
was on breaks). Sometimes during band introductions, they have him do his “hold 
a note for a very long time until his entire head turns red” shtick that he 
also regularly did during Conan’s audience warmups, although I don’t think they 
did that for this livestream. The “Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love” performance 
was enough of a gimmick on everyone’s part.
