I have not seen her show in more than a year, but as I recall she was the
winner of the “Who Wants to Replace Joy Reid on Minority Saturday at
MSNBC?” She was not as annoying as Reid (who is) but pushed to (and,
apparently, over) the limit of what defines even a cable TV journalist.

This could be a problem for MSNBC, as increasingly their demo is left
leaning women (White during the week, Minority on Weekend, even with Reid
now in Primetime). They will no doubt be looking for a Black woman to take
her seat pronto, even if it’s Whoopi Goldberg.

Wasn’t it Tamron Hall who refused to accept being moved from MSNBC weekday
to Weekend, calling out their attempt to ghettoize Saturday and marginalize
minority journalists? She was right on, and I have found their Saturday
line up to be insulting and condescending.

“There has been speculation that Cross’ relationship with MSNBC was
becoming frayed, according to two of these people, with executives at the
network growing concerned about the anchor’s willingness to address
statements made by cable-news hosts on other networks and indulging in
commentary executives felt did not meet the standards of MSNBC or NBC News.”
