Matt Lucas, the comedian who helped create the once-acclaimed, now attacked
for racist, sexist and general "punching down" humor UK series "Little
Britain," is stepping down as co-host of "The Great British Bake Off"
("Baking Show" in North America--it screens in the U.S. on Netflix) after
three seasons, claiming demands from other gigs--his stint on the show
(along with co-host Noel Fielding) was criticized by some of the show's
fans (who generally hate all other reality shows) for bringing their show
down to the level of, uh, "Little Britain":

The fan rumor mill seems to believe that the beloved ex-hosts Mel Giedroyc
and Sue Perkins are to be returning to the big tent, but we shall see.
