Two things: 1. I think they are explaining this wrong. They should say they are keeping HBO as is, but changing the name of the streaming hub where it is found. Looking for HBO? Go to Max, and you will find it. As Zas does imply, if Warners had originally got their streamer Max and told subscribers they could access HBO there, everyone would have been fine.
2. The two vs four streams distinction sounds like they are cracking down on password sharing too. I’m not sure how it works, but I am sure that currently I often have HBO being streamed by three or four different members of me family in different locations.
