The Tweetybox universally drops the "GFM" designation, even from non-US 
providers like RT and Xinhua, not that it made NPR reconsider... a reporter 
there was told by Musk that onetime CNN honcho Walter Isaacson, who is 
writing the mogul's biography, came up with the idea...

but NPR's had enough - they're quitting Twitter entirely (although 
individual journalists/personalities are still free to use the service):
