Supposedly, they stockpiled lots of material before the strike. And it should be pointed out that "Jeopardy!" and "The Chase" are exceptions in the game show world--non-WGA writers are more common, especially on Fremantle shows, following the practice of the original producer of most of their formats, Goodson-Todman (Dick DeBartolo worked for G-T shows for over 30 years but was never credited directly as a "writer," since that would indicate WGA membership--he was credited as almost everything but a writer). But I would assume that between G-T and Mad Magazine DeBartolo was doing more than OK.
