At this point the PTC exists, I guess, to collect dues and put out press releases. I have no objection to that and in the cacophony of hot take reactions they can certainly add their voice. The thing is, 30 years ago they had real power. They could put a series, use a grassroots campaign, and force the FCC to rule or a network to cancel that series. If a mainstream publication decides to publish their press release and treat it as news, that’s the publication being out of touch and living in the past.
One of the things about the chaos at WBD is it gives me a negative gut reaction when anyone predicts what Zaslav will do in the future.
