One of the last remnants of HBO's sports department, after weekday
Wimbledon went to ESPN, the net ended boxing coverage and "Inside the NFL"
moved to Showtime (and now The CW), the newsmag hosted by Bryant Gumbel is
ending production after 29 years at the former "Network of Champions," 37
Emmys and three Peabodys--Gumbel just said that it was time to move on:

Since ESPN ended "Outside the Lines" last year and Fox Sports does not have
any magazine program that does the sort of investigative reporting that
"Real Sports" did so well, this is a true loss for journalism in sports as
the nets don't want to do anything to anger the leagues and organizations
that they buy the event coverage rights from for huge sums.
