It should be pointed out that most of the criticism about Hall inductions in recent years have been over the Hall not inducting heavy metal bands, which does fit with Yawn's tastes, considering that RS and the rock elte considered metal beneath them (as did the "free form" DJs, who would've rather played folk singers or jazz cats than metalers, which is why low-rated free form got replaced by AOR, which played what the teen-and-twentysomething male audience considered "rock"). The metalheads would also complain if the hall was considering rappers, Dolly Parton, ABBA or Whitney Houston, more or less saying that they should be in a popular music hall of fame, not a RAWK Hall of Fame.
