Rob Kennedy and Susan Swain have been co-CEOs at the beloved cable public affairs channel for the last 12 years following employment at the channel since the 80s (I also remember that Swain has hosted the channel's infamous call-in programs many times)--Kennedy leaves in May and will be replaced by finance VP Matt Deprey, Swain will be replaced by one of those "national searches" that have become common at NFPs in the search for racial diversity, she will stay through a transition period:
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/c-span-co-ceo-to-step-down-in-2024-1235843334/ Kennedy and Swain had the challenges of the pandemic and the slow death of cable television to deal with in recent years (they don't ask for the outrageous carriage fees that the commercial outlets do), which makes me wonder why C-SPAN is not on the FAST streamers. It would seem to be a natural for the news tiers of your Pluto or Tubi to have the most neutral as possible of cable news/public affairs channels as part of the lineup. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TVorNotTV" group.
