I fear the hype has exceeded the quality of the content, but I basically reached that conclusion during the season three two-parter about menstruation. It is still very much hit and miss in terms of production value and writing. But it is essentially fan-fiction, and as such you have to adjust your expectations accordingly.
As a side note, last Christmas I purchased 1953’s “The Ten Commandments” on the iTunes Store. Hadn’t seen it in years, maybe decades. The Chosen is more watchable. Kevin M.
