Due to the assassination attempt on Trump and heightened security surrounding the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, "The Daily Show" will not air tonight as everyone travels back to NY (COM will probably run either an "Office" rerun or a "South Park" rerun at 11 p.m. ET), the show will be back tomorrow night from NY and Jon Stewart will host a live telecast Thursday night:
https://www.thewrap.com/the-daily-show-cancels-rnc-shows/ I believe that the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Milwaukee, where the show was going to originate for the week, falls within the security perimeter of the Fiserv Forum where the convention is being held, so it would've been impossible to do the telecasts from the Marcus Center (and checking a map, they are close enough to each other that the Marcus does fall within the perimeter). They were able yesterday to get off an "In-dog-cision 2024" voter registration drive, pet adoption drive and meet-and-greet with the Greatest F--king News Team Ever at Cathedral Square Park, which I would think would be out of the perimeter, before the decision to return to NY. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TVorNotTV" group.
