We will see. Early round Olympic events often have empty seats. I lived in Pasadena during the 1984 Olympics (the Rose Bowl was a main soccer venue) when there were apocalyptic predictions about gridlock LA traffic. Those Olympics were perceived as being very successful in part because Peter Uberroth ran a profit, but also because the traffic was actually better than usual, in part because a lot of locals left town.
