Something I said about my father, both when he was alive and after he passed, was that I loved him because he was my father, but it was unhealthy for he and I to have any sort of relationship; I wished him well, but for my own emotional well-being and sanity, I could not be around him.
I heard that vibe from her, not that she hates him, but that she needs to maintain distance from him. While sad that any child feels that way about a parent, to be able to express it in those terms is healthy. Kevin M.
