Nellie today reports one of the characters in the pilot has been
reworked... Allen's character's son, who would have been played by Froy
Gutierrez (the 2010s MTV reboot of "Teen Wolf"), is replaced with a
friend/co-worker at the shop (Seann William Scott)...

Tom Wolper, to Mark Jeffries, Kevin M, and moi, Sept 26th:

The context is that Cheers could be a multicam without pressure for
constant laughs and they could take their time and develop the plot as long
as there was a payoff at the end of the scene. By the time this young woman
was writing sitcoms, Cheers as a multicam was obsolete and the pressure was
on for constant laughs.
