The Beeb wants to put in extensions of their three national music radio 
stations on Digital Audio Broadcast (popular in the UK and Europe, failed 
in Canada and we're stuck with the inferior and wildly unsuccessful HD) to 
join urban/hip-hop Radio 1xtra and adult alternative 6Music and basically 
commercial radio, particularly those stations that haven't been swallowed 
up by big corporations, claim that it's going to put them out of business:

In particular, Boom Radio, started by veteran broadcasters as a response to 
the Beeb's adult contemporary Radio 2 dropping anything older than the 80s 
from their playlists and featuring familiar-to-Brits DJs and "presenters" 
playing standards and pop oldies, claims that a proposed Radio 2 "Memories" 
station would be, if not fatal, harming to them, claiming that it is all 
"typical BBC arrogance," are calling on the regulator Ofcom to not approve:
