Most of the details here were already in promotional material for the show.
The pilot aired tonight after the latest edition of the Kansas CIty-Buffalo football saga. Morris Chestnut plays Watson, who in this version of the story, followed Holmes and Moriarty over the Reichenbach Falls and seems to be the only one who was found. Watson is back in Pittsburgh, still recovering from his (brain) injuries), running a clinic focused on unusual cases that Holmes endowed, and accompanied by one of Holmes' associates. Watson's now (or soon-to-be, it's not clear) ex-wife works at a nearby hospital. Four doctors assist Watson with the cases, one of whom is also a neurologist monitoring his recovery. If your response is "we already have House, M.D. at home" or "we already have Elementary at home" (the showrunner was an EP on Elementary) you can most likely pass on this one. Chestnut, at least at first glance, seems the only one who can elevate the material, which was not the case with most of the recent Holmes clones. There are plenty of nods to the source material, but nothing that really adds to the show. The ending suggests where things will go with this show, which I don't think is particularly new. Next episode airs February 16th, and I may or may not remember to watch it. David -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TVorNotTV" group.
