Alf Clausen didn't write the theme song (that was Danny Elfman), but his 27 years and over 600 episodes of original scores and songs for "The Simpsons" earned him 23 Emmy nominations and two wins, along with two more wins for his work on "Moonlighting" (to be exact, the "Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice" black-and-white episode and "Atomic Shakespeare," the "Taming of the Shrew" parody)--among other things, he also recorded an album of big band jazz called "Swing Can Really Hang You Up the Most"--after a long battle with Parkinson's disease on Thursday:
