Charter/Spectrum, once Time Warner and still part-owned by Advance/Newhouse 
(parent of 'papers' familiar to moi), who owns NY1 News, and 
Altice/Optimum, once Cablevision, who owns News 12, apparently fell out 
over an agreement reached in late 2017 where each company carried the 
other's outlet without charge... the ultimate reason, per Charter, was 
Altice's quitting multiple industry trade groups such as NCTA, which goes 
back to when cable was barely a thing... the channels go dark late June 
30th unless a new deal is reached:
