The first ombudsman in the history of CBS News (what would Murrow think?)
is Kenneth Weinstein, the former head of the Hudson Institute, who was
picked by Trump in his first term to be ambassador to Japan but didn't get
Senate approval--along with many other things, including Paramount's
imminent (so it seems) acquisition of Bari Weiss' Free Press (and her
possible presence at the Eye), it continues the obvious pattern that the
Ellisons want CBS News to be more like Fox:

And we have to bring in former CNNer Oliver Darcy, now of the Status
newsletter, who pretty much says that CBS/Paramount is going to find out
what his former channel, the Washington Post and the LA Times are finding
out--even if you hired Hannity, Watters and Gutfeld away from Fox, it's not
going to make any difference to the right, because they want CBS and those
other institutions to burn in the fiery pits of hell, while you're chasing
away your former core audience.
