Both the launcher and its payload remain in a safe condition inside the
Ariane 5 final assembly building at the Spaceport.
With a mass at liftoff of more than 6,500 kg. (14,000 lb.), THAICOM 4
(IPSTAR) will be the largest commercial telecommunications ever carried
into geostationary transfer orbit (GTO). The spacecraft is based on
Space Systems/Loral's LS 1300-SX satellite bus, and its hybrid
