Tonights Delta 4 / GOES-N launch attempt has been scrubbed about 45
minutes before liftoff to give engineers more time to complete some
analysis with the composite-wrapped pressure tanks on the second stage
that provides helium pressure to the liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen
fuel systems for the first and second stages of the Delta 4 rocket.
The launch was delayed back in April due to the same concerns with these
tanks which resulted in the demating of the stages to get access. The
concern was about an internal buckle in the vessels.
Another attempt to launch could be made Tuesday pending the outcome of
the analysis, or it may be longer.
