Big Dish Losing Big Subs
Maintaining the trend that C-Band is soon to be the satellite TV
industry's 8-track player, major deauthorizations continue to mount as
more and more customers turn to DBS.
The latest numbers released from the Access Control Center, the Motorola
group responsible for tracking big dish user numbers, shows that C-Band
is still on the way out.
According to ACC the C-Band service added 24 authorizations duing the
month of October, while total de-authorizations were slightly higher at
17,170. Simple math shows net authorizations in October were down -17,146.
The total number of net authorizations over the past several months
looks like this: September, -6,373; August, -7,589; July, -15,935; June,
-29,743; May, -8,531; April, -8,306 and -11,160 in March.
