This upcoming Wednesday evening (02-08), Sea Launch is schduled to launch EchoStar X communications satellite for EchoStar Communications on a Zenit-3SL rocket from the Odyssey Launch Platform positioned on the equator in the Pacific Ocean.
Launch window opens at 6:35 p.m. EST. with a 49 minute window Spacecraft separation in 1 hour and 2 minutes after lift off above the East Coast of Africa. EchoStar X , a A2100-AX model optimized for direct broadcast applications and built by Lockheed Martin, is a high-power KU Band satellite with a service life of 15 years on orbit. EchoStar X will be located at 110 degrees West Longitude. Broadcast coverage: AMC-2 @ 85 degrees West, transponder 1 Ku band (11720 Mhz Vertical) Analog Test signals start at 5:45 p.m. EST. Broadcast starts at 6:15 p.m. EST.
