I'm right outside New Orleans and have had Big Dish for ~15 years (with 4DTV for nearly 7 years) . Might have been nice to have a suitable generator after Katrina to view the live feeds. Only ran refrigerator and some lights with a small 4000 watt portable gen. At that time broadcast news was nearly all exagerations or downright lies. Wondering if any of you spent much time viewing live feeds from here? As a second thought, the live feeds might have been scarier. We didn't evacuate and faired rather well. Stayed at my business to protect everything. Only wind damage, (and rain through roof) less than $100,000 total in losses. No flooding like a few miles away in New Orleans. Since we didn't have much TV or computer to watch for 2 weeks since power off, we got more neighborhod cleanup and repairs started. Hardest to tolerate was 95 F and near 100% humidity without airconditioning. Waiting for a new 45 KW generator to arrive next week. Hoping we won't need it for hurricane for several years.
