Wednesday Morning (10-17)  a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket 
(7925 configuration) with  NAVSTAR GPS 2R-17 spacecraft is scheduled to 
launch from pad 17A. Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

Launch is scheduled at 8:23 a.m. EDT.  with a window extending to 8:38 
a.m. EDT.

At this time forecasters are predicting a 40 percent chance of favorable 
launch conditions due to rain showers and cloud cover at launch time.

Satellite seperation is scheduled for 68 minutes after launch.

GPS 2R-17 (GPS 2R-M4) is the fourth of eight in the new "Modernized" 
version of the 2R series of satellites that feature many improvements 
for greater accuracy, and tougher resistance to interference and 
enhanced performance for users around the world.

GPS 2R-17 will go into the Plane F, Slot 2 position to replace the GPS 
2A-14 satellite launched in July 1992.

Test signal starts at 7:45 a.m. EDT.
