I have to take exception to two of the points that Bruce made:
Radio Shack equipment cannot be dismissed as to quality compared to
any other vendor.
Common wisdom has that an antenna amplifer should be used to return
the signal reaching the receiver to unity gain when dealing with the loss from
a
long cable run. It does no good to boost the signal (and the noise) when the
receiver's AGC is just going to cut it back again.
