I'm having major jobs done on the home, one of which involves "rationalizing"
the tv wiring. We currently have a coaxial cable running from the satellite
dish on an outside wall, linked up to a TV in the living room, and an antenna
cable running down from the TV antenna on the roof to a second tv in the
kitchen. I'd like to have a tv feed from the satellite dish in more than one
room (via freesat decoder), while retaining the possibility of connecting
directly to a tv with the antenna cable (freeview decoder ultimately, analog
signal for the moment - I'm in France and the digital switchover hasn't yet
happened).
My question is: is it possible to splice all these cables together as a coaxial
cable network, or will there be conflict between the different signals? Would I
be advised, at least, to retain a dedicated coaxial cable linked to the roof
antenna and another separate one for the satellite dish?
Thanks in advance.
Ian
