You probably know that we lost a few fps especially in the ohmygod type
demos like overkill.qwd when we lost asm. Recently, the old asm was nuked
outright, so there's not much chance of it coming back. To those of us on
fast systems, we won't miss it. But to those of us on slower systems,
that can hurt a little.
Our very own Victor Luchits (digiman) gave us a nice kick in the ass, in
terms of performance, over the past couple days. The final pieces of it
are now in place, and I am to no end pleased to report the following
results:
QuakeForge
qw-client-glx +timedemo overkill.qwd
1382 frames 41.6 seconds 33.20 fps
Project Twilight
twilight-qw +timedemo overkill.qwd
1382 frames 13.9 seconds 99.3 fps
Have a nice day.
