hmmm..Thanks finally a few understood what I am talking about. As far as C goes, itz the best language out there.
As far as turboC goes, itz legacy's legacy. One needs to move on to the latest compilers available and my personnel opinion is that the best of the lot of GCC. My point here is that educational institutes are to be teaching students to use these latest compilers, debuggers rather that using legacy utilities. Itz always a value add to learn to use compilers like GCC or the one that comes with Visual studio. Some spend money after college doing bridge course in learning to use these which they should have learned by the time they graduate. Showing the students to use the open source utilities is always a plus for the institutes and also the students and one should also be taught the ethics of interacting with the open source community. One has to do his home work before asking a question else there are really bad people out there. Bet every one knows about the flame wars. Bottom line is legacy should be legacy and educational institutes to move to the next level. Good thing is that there are so many opensource softwares out there that one need not spend even a penny.
