Dear friends, I have been researching and generally playing around with social learning from some time. Sometime back I had created a website where I collected various computer science open courseware courses.
I feel that it is entirely possible for someone with a little will and discipline to learn an equivalent of a masters program, all by themselves using freely available material from the Internet, and even create a learning trail for credentials. As an experiment I am going to do a masters worth of studying with a major in web application development, using social learning principles and freely available material (videos, audio, and text) on the Internet.
