Dear all,

This mail is an update of events of Hyderabad Linux Meetup-Resurrection 3

Expectations were high this time but the prevailing unrest and Group-1 exams
in city had impact on attendance in the meetup.But braving all odds I could
see new members attending this meetup.Thank you -all those who attended this
meetup for very first time.We had a enthusiastic Lead programmer Goutham
from gaming domain,gracing the meetup-Shyamal from telecommunications
domain,Azmath-from IT admin domain,Senior member Pramod Reddy-open to
explore new things.
After a round of informal discussions,members gave their inputs on how to
take this meetup further.
New members were informed of the idea behind resurrecting the group and
ideas which were discussed in earlier two meetups.The main idea that echoed
throughout the meetup was to have a focused agenda and to bring in students
to this kind of meetups.

Points discussed-
1)To have a focused discussion in future.
2)What should be the outcome expected from this group?
3)What are the points to be included in to make people attend meetups
regularly?
4)How to bring in more participants?
5)Linux meetup as a platform for enhancing the communication skills of
participants.
6)Bring/blending elements of entertainment into Linux meetup talks.
7)Linux meetup as a platform for showcasing Programming/technical skills.
8)To attract speakers from various technical domain who will enlighten the
group members
9)Time allocation to discuss emerging trends-Information sharing
10)Feedback forms-to collect and analyze feedback from members.
11)To keep technical talks as simple as possible-cutting down on too much of
technical jargon.
12)To attract students to this meetup-Creating a conducive environment to
showcase their skills.
13)To go and meet students in colleges-as a part of future objective.
14)Additional roles to be created to empower the group.

15)Conducting technical sessions in informal manner from next meetup.
16)Consider change in timings-Friday/Saturday-Need to do a poll on this.

20 min-Main topic of the day(Decided by poll)

*What is Showcase-6:20??
The aim is to create a platform for students and professionals alike to
share/showcase their work to other members.Each meetup will have 3
talks(Showcases)of 6:20 sec each-The ideas is to present your idea with in a
time limit of 400 seconds(20 seconds each of 20 slides in total).*
