Hi: Dual-core CPUs have become common place.
Here is a heads up on quad (4) core CPU. The product from Intel is Conroe E6600 "Kensfield" CPU which runs at a stock speed of 2.4GHz and has 8MB of cache. The three main concerns continue to be - a. Heat (air cooling is not sufficient) b. Scalability (quad-core != 4 x cpu) c. Quad-core support (where are the games and apps) A brief on the capabilities is available at http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=21 The processor pics and benchmarks are available at http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=104484 The prices for the processors are available at http://www.pcdoctor-guide.com/wordpress/?p=3072 There is already plenty of discussion on Intel D on this list and thanks to Ramana we will get a chance to see his powerful box soon. thanks Saifi. ------------------------ Yahoo!
