Hi all:

One of the difficulty that continues to plague Open Source Engineers
is non-availability of chipset documentation or restriction on Firmware
distribution rights.

During the meeting with JNTUCE students, this point was highlighted
in the case of two wireless products sold in the India market.

They are -
 1. LINKSYS Wireless-G WP654G 2.4GHz 802.11g
 2. NETGEAR Wireless PC Card 32-vit CardBus WG 511

The only way to make the devices work is using the NDIS wrapper
and that is at best flaky.

Theo De Raadt, the founder of the OpenBSD project has written
an open letter on this issue (as by OpenBSD when dealing with Intel)
to the Open Source community.

thanks
Saifi.
