Well Sumit,

Not everybody compiles from source to install software!
And the good thing is that you have choice.
Had you selected Development packages while installing you would not have felt
this frustation.

Subject: [twincling] autoconf not found

Hi All,

I got error while compiling http apache server 2.2.4 on Suse 10.1.

autoconf not found
you need autoconf version 2.50 or newer installed
to build APR from SVN
./buildconf failed for apr.

Did any body faced this issue before?
how this Problem can be solved?
My Q is why this error came ?
why dont the autoconf is not included in default settings while OS
installations?
Suse 10.1 is not much older Linux flavor then why Apache required so
latest version which may not be in a year old Linux version.

thanks
Sumit
