Hi Thomas:

Just boot the machine, you will see the boot prompt

select the fedora option
and please press the key 'e' (edit) on the keyboard.

You will see a line that looks like this.
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18.2-34-default root=/dev/sda2 vga=0x317

Select this line and press 'c' (ie. command line)
Now you will see the same line as
grub> kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18.2-34-default root=/dev/sda2 vga=0x317

Goto the end of the line (ie. CTRL+e) and type the word 'single'

After that press ENTER key and you will be back in the fedora option.

Press 'b' to boot the system.

Now your system will boot till level 1 and you will see a prompt
shell like this '#'.

Type 'passwd' and enter the new password directly.

After you have changed the password, you can
a. /sbin/telinit 3
or
b. /sbin/reboot

Hope this helps.

thanks
Saifi.
