Hi Sridhar:

Global Desktop basically is a thinned down version of Red Hat Enterprise
Linux Desktop 5, made more applicable for desktop and laptop consumption.

Two of the touted features are
 . Better multimedia (using M$ codecs :-))
 . Active directory interop with LDAP
