Hi all: Gentoo is a free operating system based on either Linux or FreeBSD that can be automatically optimized and customized for just about any application or need.
Extreme configurability, performance and a top-notch user and developer community are all hallmarks of the Gentoo experience. The Gentoo Project was started by Daniel Robbins to bring the best of BSD to Linux. For the last two days, I have been working with Gentoo very closely to setup a File server using commodity hardware, that can work with both Windows and Linux clients. The shiny new system is ready and working fine so far !
