hi, well after Kazaa torrent is the popular thing. torrent is far better over wget . torrent use p2p concept, its like keep passing data to next nearest torrent downloader. while you are downloading , same time same thing you are feeding to some other peer nearest to your network.
it uses 1024 to 65535 port , with simple shell script you can route ports within host for faster download. i use bittorrent, it works fine with my FC4. On windows utorrent is popular. -Hasib > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Saifi Khan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: [email protected] > Subject: [twincling] torrent client advise > Date: Sat, 3 Nov 2007 13:48:07 +0530 (IST) > > > Hi all: > > Can somebody suggest a good stable torrent client that can be > used from the command line and a configuration file ? > > Would like to try out downloading software using a torrent client. > So far, I have always used wget over http/ftp. > > There are too many to choose from and i thought some > experienced folks can share their expertise. > > i'm also keen to know how a torrent internally works ? > Does a torrent work over Hathway broadband connection ? > > > thanks > Saifi.
