Hi Dinesh, Let me appreciate ur thought on making a clone for the del.icio.us. Is it for ur course project? U can find many open source alternatives for the social bookmarking. If u just want to extend the delicious, u can use the api's exposed by the del.icio.us. Else, if u wanna have a standalone one, I wld refer u to either scuttle (www.scuttle.org) / markaboo (www.markaboo.com). U can download and make changes to the code. U cld also have a look at www.shadows.com
Best way to dwellout the inside things, is by using it. Become a end user for those bookmark services, and observe the ins and outs.
