Hi:

Here is the common pattern that i see on a 40GB Seagate disk
as the data is being copied across or even when 'ls' command
is run.

hda: task_in_intr: status=0x59 {DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error}
hda: task_in_intr: error=0x40  {UncorrectableError}, LBAsect=38988923,
high=2,low=5434491,sector=38988923
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
end_request: I/O error, dev hda, sector 38988915
EXT3-fs error (device hda7): ext3_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode
block - inode=1181776, block=2359436
....

Is this symptom of a failing Hard disk or a corrupt file system ?

Any thoughts on this ?

thanks
Saifi.
