Hi Guys, One of my frnds mailed us for help on Open Source Accessibility project. He needs someone to volunteer and help him on this.College guys can come forward for this.It will be a great opportunity for them.
Please see the mail below. thanks Saurabh ---------------- Hi all, I had sometime back tried to install ubuntu on the desktop of a visually impaired student from Samarthanam since he was trying to use pirated versions of JAWS which is rather expensive on a pirated copy of windows. I shall pay him a visit again sometime soon... I floated a mail in a technical group asking bout new tools n got - http://larswiki.atrc.utoronto.ca/wiki/Software http://tuxmobil.org/mobile_blind.html I wish we cud get some of the geeks to come join hands with us (working on it! ;)). Wat better way to give back to the open source community and 'otherwise'? :) I think Sattva can use the theme - accessibility technology - and I wud personally like to help with the same and mebbe on open source initiatives in the social sector. Also for those interested in promoting Linux - A fest in Bangalore to promote Linux usage - Its a localization initiative which mainly promotes Kannada/Linux usage. Go through the details here: http://dev.sampada.net/GNU_Linux_Install_Fest PS: They want volunteers to install Ubuntu on people's laptops/systems :-) I m hoping to get some volunteers from there as well! :) have fun, Mynk
