Gather requirements, model, design, develop, test, implement, support, and tune high availability data. Create necessary SQL and PL/SQL scripts for administration activities. Migrate software systems to Oracle from other software platforms and deploy Oracle software in performance-critical, high availability environments. Provide dataset administration support and database maintenance critical to state-of-the-art electronic commerce websites. Provide support for system upgrades and new system releases, and perform database monitoring using SQL and UNIX shell scripting, security monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of system failures. Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software to protect vulnerable information, modify existing databases and database management systems, or direct programmers and analysts to make changes. Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure. Approve schedules, and plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, as well as train users. Establish and calculate optimum values for database parameters, and specify users and user access levels. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools. Establish and maintain security and integrity controls, and formulate and monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to data management. Build data that meet the needs of the business and work well within the overall systems architecture. Qualifications BS in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered.
