I grew up on Redhat but I fell in love with Ubuntu! :) For a long time I compared the two distros but with Ubuntu being in line with so much of my thinking I have only Ubuntu on my system now. May just try out FC9 on a virtual box but no more. Hoping to contribute to the Ubuntu community also... :)
Search something on Linux and chances are good u will hit an ubuntu forum! :) http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/10065 has a mention about it and at distrowatch Ubuntu has been ruling for years now! :D I had been to a Linux Habba at Blr and the look on the faces when they saw how easy some of the things were on Ubuntu I knew they wudn't miss Windoze! :) I have had a chance to speak to the CTO of Canonical and be at close proximity with Mark Shuttleworth and I must truly admit really amazing guyz - not denying that Windoze would have it's own set of people, so wud redhat and others but these guyz are psychos!!! :D The best thing to do is not be a fanatic coz in all possibility tomorrow there might be a better distro out there... :) Till then enjoy Ubuntu! ;) have fun, Mynk PS: I share my experience in the hope that people will move out of MS world to the linux world and not as much out of FC! :)) Hasib wrote: > > Hi, WE all like Fedora,Infact Fedora is one of popular Linux Destro, > similarly suse, ubuntu, slackware, debian. Its just depend on one, which > destro suits one's hardware and requirments.Almost all Linux destros > comes with same core kernel. > I used Red hat 7,8,9 then FC 1 to 7, now i switched to ubunto , good > for multimedia desktop suits to my AMD Athlon and ASUS .Any body have > similar experience. > > Regards > HASIB. > > > "nikhil.bbharadwaj" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > <mailto:bharadwaj_nikhil2003%40yahoo.com>> wrote: > --- In [email protected] <mailto:twincling%40yahoogroups.com>, > "eerpinisatish" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > hi everyone , > > last time the Fedora 8 DVDs were available at Twincling immediately > > after the release, ... so any similar plans for Fedora 9 (sulphur)? > > > > yep, > > I expect the same this time as Fedora is still among the most admired > distributions in the Twincling community. > > To know more about the cool features in Fedora 9: > http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/9/FeatureList > <http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/9/FeatureList> > > ------------------------------------ ============================================================== (2nd Saturday) Technical Meetups, Hackathons, Workshops, BoFs Special Events on 4th Saturday of every month.
