Hi all:

Sometime back there was discussion on the list about Android
and i was sort of thinking of Qtopia.

Then Uma and i were having discussion about Azingo and Limo.

Now, recently we had a posting on Moblin.

The current list seems to be like:
 . LiMo
 . Linux Phone
 . Mobilinux
 . OpenMoko
 . Open Mobile Alliance
 . Qtopia
 . Moblin
 . Android
 . Maemo

What exactly is the difference in the focus of each of these toolkits
or platforms ?

The impression i get is that Vendors are scrambling to build Open Source
developer communities around their core platforms for next round
of profits.

What i mean is this:
. Google wants its apps to be on smartphone and so perhaps
   Android.

. Intel wants to sell its processor in mobile space (where mostly ARM
ecosystem is in place) and so Moblin.

. Nokia wants its smartphone-to-internet-access-devies to run gtk+
   and so OpenMoko etc.

i'm a newbie in this space and just trying to figure out the true
north among all this hoopla !

All suggestions, insights are welcome.

thanks
Saifi.
