Hi all: A new TSM format has been introduced to make the event more valuable for the attendees and address community priorities.
The 180 min that we spent on Saturday, will now have: 70 min : Technology Talk 30 min : Dev Video / Experience sharing 80 min : Project Engineering discussions The 70-80 min technology talks will focus on aspects that can be put to immediate use by the Twincling Project Engineering teams. This would be applicable for Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec TSMs. The 30 min Video is a great way to see and listen to what the other smart engineers in Open Source are doing. A developer in person will be invited to share his/her experience with technology or design in event (s)he is based out of or available over the weekend in Hyderabad. Every TSM will now also serve as a platform for engineering discussions related to Twincling Projects. This would be for about 70 - 80 min. The face 2 face interaction among the team members is expected to facilitate discussions related to features, implementation issues, welcoming new members. This "high touch" approach will be supported by the "high tech" mailing list/IRC interactions. The event timing as always, continues to be 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm and the TSM will be scheduled for Second saturday of every month. There may be exceptions due to holidays, in which case we reschedule to 3rd Saturday perhaps. Other points of note are as follows: -- Software CD/DVD Member services like Software media CD/DVDs will be available at the TSM venue. You are welcome to bring in your blank CD/DVD and based on your choice (among available ISO images) we'll write the media. -- Laptops All laptops taken inside the premises have to have the asset serial number endorsed, before they will be allowed inside. We align with the security practices of our host ie. AppLabs and all attendees are requested to cooperate in this matter. -- ID Card All members are requested to kindly carry their ID cards. For student members, college ID cards are required. -- Arrive Early As our attendance during TSM is significant, it takes quite sometime for members to sign-in, get laptop serial number endorsed and be escorted to the 3rd floor, 3XL Conf room. Please arrive atleast 15 - 20 min in advance at the venue so that we don't lose time. Hope the new format will help the members and be a enjoyable experience. thanks Saifi.
