Hi Vijaylakshmi:

Assuming that C: and D: are primary partitions.

Here are the steps:
  1. Please transfer all the data from E: and F: to C:/D:

  2. Next delete E: and F: partitions.

  3. Note the Display adapter properties (from windows)
     Horizontal Refresh Rate
        Vertical Refresh Rate
        Display Depth : usually 24-bit
        Resolution : eg 1024 x 768

  4. Put the OpenSuSe DVD and boot up the system.

  5. Select manual partition and create a partition layout as shown:

     primary partition / ext3 40GB

        extended partition swap 2GB

In the above approach /boot is part of / partition which is primary.
        Hence there are no issues.

  6. Select KDE desktop environment, KOffice along with LAMP stuff and
     get going with the installation.

  7. Install GRUB on the MBR (Master Boot Record). OpenSuSe installer
ensures that detected windows partition entry is made in the
        /boot/grub/menu.lst file

  7. After installation, reboot the system and you'll be presented
with a GRUB screen, select OpenSuSe and system boots up.

Who is the service provider for your internet connection ?
You are going to need the information to setup your network.
Please keep that information handy.

Let me know how it goes. All the best.

thanks
Saifi.
