Hi Nag:

It is always a good idea to invest in an additional router (WiFi
recommended) as that keeps connection and access management simple.

I'd recommend NETGEAR WGR614v7. The cost was about INR 1900 when i
purchased it close to two years ago. Currently, it should cost you
around 1650 - 1700.

The NETGEAR router has a web interface to manage the connection settings
which includes firewall capabilities, port filtering and forwarding, MAC
based access control, DHCP server. It is also a 4-port switch to
physically connect to desktop or printer.

Performance wise i had no issues even during heavy downloads like DVD
.iso images or managing many connected wireless devices. All the 3 laptops
and 3 smartphones (E61) can simultaneously access the network services
along with my 5 servers without any performance degradation.

If you are in Hyderabad, you can visit CTC and buy it from Mr. Reddy of
Supreme Infotech.

Hope this helps.

thanks
Saifi.
