For complete details, please see the link below http://www.twincling.org/node/318 One or two people have asked, why such and such distro is not available. The answer is very simple. When things are free, time is of great essence ! As a community, we are working extensively with Gentoo and OpenSuSe.So, we have got all the relevant versions, even the interim betas ! We're tracking bugs on a weekly basis, coming up with work arounds and use these distros for our project work as well. In fact the techical events/workshops we're doing this year has been possible because of the features and releases supported by Gentoo (Overlays/layman) and OpenSuSe (KDE 4.x releases, LiveCD). Like to publicly thank Gentoo, OpenSuSe, KDE, PHP guys for the great work they are doing ! As we continue this good work with focus and attention, the quality of interactions on the list, technical issues faced will also improve. eg. there was a recent posting on Samba by Bhagwat. i'm sure many people would have read it. However there were no replies, because it requires one to know Samba. It is not something that can be easily replied by looking at search results. So, here's the big deal, "when you have issues/want to learn more about" . OpenSuSe or Gentoo or BSD or Solaris . using infrastructure software like X, Samba, iptables databases, nagios, sendmail, KDE etc . core systems, appliance engineering issues . module/driver design, Open Source code . web application development the time you invest in the Twincling community will be rewarding. At the sametime, at Twincling we mentor new members so that they can add value to themselves and to the community. We are perhaps the only community which treats newbies as an asset. Think infrastructure software, think Twincling ! For the rest, please use Web search. Attention and focus while creating value is what will take us to the top. And we want to be on the top ! thanks Saifi.
