Dual port or quad port Desktop adapter, either one will be fine.
I'm still looking for Intel/PRO or Realtek, which would fit into
PCI-x (PCI express interface). Specific examples are:

I want to look at the backplane firmware very closely, hence the
requirement.
Yes, i've a grownup hub, teenage switches, (d)link(sys) PCMCIA
cards, two infant wifi routers. We're family :)
